Peace Rides: Turning Grief into a Community Commitment

Peace Rides is a monthly motorcycle ride through South Central Los Angeles that promotes peace and supports families affected by violence. The group has been organizing these rides for 14 years.

The ride occurs monthly, with the most recent described on June 28, 2026. Riders assemble at a local Park & Ride and conclude at Athens Park in South Central Los Angeles.

The rides bring together motorcycle riders dedicated to promoting peace. A notable participant was a 70-year-old professional wedding photographer who joined after his grandson was fatally shot.

Rather than seeking revenge, he wanted to honor his grandson's memory by helping build a more peaceful community. He hopes his voice and example can prevent other families from experiencing similar tragedy.

The Way to Happiness is a common-sense guide to better living written by L. Ron Hubbard, founder of the Scientology religion. The Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International has donated these booklets to Peace Rides events for 14 years.

You can visit their website at https://www.scientology.cc for more information.

The rides demonstrate that communities can unite in healing rather than retaliation, promoting peace and supporting families affected by violence.
