Wrap Technologies Expands Campus Safety with UMBC BolaWrap Deployment

Wrap Technologies announced that the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) has purchased BolaWrap devices and Non-Lethal Response training as part of its initial deployment of non-lethal capabilities for campus safety and security.

The deployment is intended to support responsible, measured response by providing officers with an additional non-lethal tool designed to help reduce escalation and create opportunities for safer resolutions.

The BolaWrap 150 incorporates a multi-sensory distraction of sight and sound as a first response, followed by a non-lethal restraint if further escalation is required. It does not shoot, strike, shock, or incapacitate; instead, it helps officers operate pre-escalation on the force continuum.

Wrap Technologies is targeting markets including higher education, healthcare, transportation, critical infrastructure, and security.

The broader Non-Lethal Response ecosystem includes Wrap Reality, WrapTactics, WrapVision, and other public safety technologies.

The BolaWrap is used by over 1,000 agencies across the U.S. and in 60 countries.

BolaWrap training is certified by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST).
