Go-To-Market Governance (GTMGO): A New Discipline for AI-Driven Enterprises

This working paper introduces Go-To-Market Governance (GTMGO) as a proposed executive management discipline to engineer trust into growth for AI-enabled organizations, addressing the Governance Velocity Gap where innovation outpaces governance.
Go-To-Market Governance (GTMGO): A New Discipline for AI-Driven Enterprises

GTMGO is a proposed executive management discipline designed to help organizations engineer governance into growth, rather than applying governance after growth has occurred. It is introduced in Working Paper No. 1 of the GTMGO Canon.

As AI transforms how organizations innovate and compete, governance has remained organized around independent functional disciplines. The increasing velocity of innovation creates a Governance Velocity Gap™, challenging trust. GTMGO aims to preserve trust by integrating governance with growth.

The Version 1.0 Freeze includes Governance Engineering (the scientific methodology), the Go-To-Market Governance Officer (the executive accountable for Trusted Growth), Governance Velocity Gap™ (the challenge when innovation outpaces governance), and GTMGO Thermodynamic-Friction™ (organizational resistance from slower governance evolution).

The paper invites executives, directors, governance professionals, lawyers, technologists, engineers, cybersecurity practitioners, privacy leaders, healthcare administrators, financial institutions, regulators, researchers, and academics to review and contribute feedback.

Rather than restating existing frameworks, the paper proposes recurring engineering principles observed across trusted professions and regulated industries, synthesized through management science, systems thinking, and engineering methodology to create a unified governance discipline for AI-enabled enterprises.

The release as Working Papers reflects the belief that enduring management disciplines evolve through disciplined inquiry, practical application, constructive criticism, and continuous refinement, rather than by declaration alone.

Meaningful feedback will be documented through the GTMGO Research Notes process and considered for future Working Papers, without altering the historical integrity of Version 1.0.

Working Paper No. 1 will be released in the coming weeks from the publication date of the press release (July 06, 2026).
