Bradley A. Maron, M.D., FAHA, a board-certified clinical cardiologist and distinguished researcher in pulmonary hypertension and right heart failure, has been appointed as the new editor-in-chief.

Maron's editorship begins effective July 6, 2026, with the issue published on that date.

Maron plans to introduce new features including a Clinician Lighthouse article for diagnostic guidance and a Clinician’s Corner for decision-making support, while also aiming to increase transparency and engage readers more effectively.

Maron succeeds Joseph A. Hill, M.D., FAHA, who led Circulation since 2016, and Joseph Loscalzo, M.D., Ph.D., FAHA, who served from 2004 to 2016.

Maron is recognized globally for mechanistic and clinical advances in pulmonary hypertension, right heart failure, and cardiomyopathy, focusing on pulmonary vascular disease.

He is senior associate dean for precision medicine, director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Center, and the Melvin Sharovsky Professor of Medicine, as well as co-executive director of the Institute for Health Computing.

The appointment underscores the American Heart Association's commitment to advancing transformative science in cardiovascular medicine, and Maron's vision is expected to shape the journal's future impact.
