The Mad Hatter Holiday Festival is a whimsical holiday event that transforms Vallejo's historic downtown into a Wonderland of magic and enchantment, featuring a parade with fire-shooting Burning Man mutant vehicles, Wonderland characters, and cultural performances that make it unlike any other festival in the states.
The festival occurs on Saturday, December 6, 2025 in the historic downtown district of Vallejo, California.
The festival starts at 2:00 PM, Queen's Court at 2:30 PM, the parade begins at 4:30 PM, the Holiday Tree Lighting Program starts at 6:00 PM, and the Vallejo Yacht Club Lighted Boat Parade begins at 6:30 PM.
Attendees will see the Mad Hatter and his tea party guests, Burning Man mutant vehicles shooting fire, a restored 48 and 8 Train from the early 1900s, Storm Troopers led by Darth Vader, cultural dancing groups, hip-hop performers, lighted floats, and various Wonderland characters interacting with the public.
Families can enjoy a bell-ringing lighted holiday train for children to ride, holiday gift and food vendors, live musical performances, photo opportunities between giant flaming feathers, and interactions with all the Hatter's Characters throughout the festival grounds.
The tree lighting countdown is led by Mayor and Grand Marshals Freddie Stone of Sly & The Family Stone, along with Community Grand Marshal Amanda Williams, a single mom recognized for her heroic actions.
The event features the lighting of a 50-foot tree with over three thousand lights, which is one of California's largest holiday trees, staged with a massive constructive Victorian Ship featuring a 30-foot colorful blimp on top.
Hyperion Community Partners LLC produces the festival in partnership with the City of Vallejo, and they also organize The Mad Hatter's July 4th Waterfront Celebration.
